About Punakha

Punakha was the capital of Bhutan until 1955 and remains the winter home of the monastic order. Set in a warm, fertile valley where the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers meet, it is famous for its breathtaking dzong, suspension bridges and gentle valley walks.
